iPod speakers are nothing new. You just have to walk into any store and you will have plenty of sets to choose from. But what I wanted was something that would turn my iPod into a modern-day boom box. I saw the Bose Docking Station at my friend’s place, but it was a bit too heavy for me, so I finally decided to go with the Kicker iK500 iPod Speaker Dock.
Although it looked bigger than the Bose Docking Station, it was definitely lighter. Even though I prefer sound quality over aesthetics, I like that the Kicker iKICK iK500 Stereo System has a sleek look. I was impressed not just with its looks, but also its amazing audio quality. Regardless of whether you play jazz, pop, rock, or hip hop, the dynamic bass response from the iK500 powered speaker system‘s patent-pending 6-inch reflex subwoofer is unmatched.

I set it up in my living room and inaugurated it at my pool party. Once I plugged my iPod into the iK500 powered speaker system, my entire pool area filled with music from Shania Twain’s Send It With Love. I’m positive that even my neighbors could hear her singing “Lost My Heart” (although they might not have enjoyed it, I certainly did!)KICKER IK500 IPOD SPEAKER DOCK I could easily maneuver through the menu with the infrared remote to control volume, select tracks, play songs, and turn the power on or off.Since my iPod sat safely cocooned between the speakers, I didn’t have to worry about it getting knocked around by my over-zealous friends. When my boyfriend got tired of all my mushy love songs, he connected my laptop to the Kicker iKICK iK500 Stereo System so that he could play his favorite rap numbers from iTunes.

The Kicker iK500 iPod Speaker Dock is great buy for people who enjoy blasting their music
